Job summary

Texas Oncology - Ft Worth is seeking a full-time Medical Physicist (MS or PhD) to join our regional team in the Fort Worth area.

You will work with nine physicists and dosimetrists across seven clinics, providing clinical medical physics services, treatment planning, QA, and participation in SRS/SBRT. The ideal candidate will hold a CAMPEP-accredited residency, ABR certification or eligibility, and a Texas license eligibility, with experience on Varian linacs and Eclipse/BrachyVision.

Qualifications

  • CAMPEP-Accredited residency in medical physics
  • ABR certification or board eligibility
  • Two years of clinical medical physics experience preferred
  • Experience with Varian linacs; SRS/SBRT/HDR knowledge; planning system experience

Responsibilities

  • Deliver clinical medical physics services across 7 community clinics
  • Support treatment planning, QA, and second-check programs
  • Collaborate with physicists, dosimetrists, and residents in clinical workflows

to join our regional group of 7 radiation oncology centers located in the greater Fort Worth region. The candidate will work in conjunction with our 9 board-certified physicists to support our clinics. The successful candidate should have a current ABR certification or be in the process of obtaining certification, be eligible for a Texas state license for medical physics and have working experience in a clinical environment.

Facilities And Equipment

The Texas Oncology Fort Worth practices provide a full range of external beam radiation therapy procedures in addition to HDR brachytherapy. Equipment in use at these locations include 1 Truebeam STx, 2 Trubeam, 7 Varian 21 iX, GE CT-Sim, Simens PET/CTs, 4 Bravos HDR afterloaders, ARIA TPS, Eclipse, and BrachyVision. The successful candidate will join our team of 9 physicists, 9 dosimetrists, and 2 physics residents in providing a full range of clinical medical physics services in support of our 7 community-based clinics. All sites share a single database for ROIS, treatment planning (conventional and SRS), 2nd check program, SNC SunCheck, Radformation applications

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have

  • CAMPEP Accredited Residency Program in Medical Physics
  • Valid Texas Medical Board license or board eligible
  • American Board of Radiology certification or board eligible
  • Preferred two years of experience as a certified medical physicist
  • Working knowledge of SRS, SBRT, and HDR
  • Experience with Varian linear accelerators
  • Experience with Eclipse/BrachyVision Planning system
  • Experience with Element Planning system
  • Strong organization and oral / written communication skills
