Job description

Physicist, Lead

Key Role:

Leverage physics expertise to test and analyze physical phenomena to support S&T client challenges. Apply leading-edge principles, theories, and concepts, and contribute to the development of new principles and concepts. Work on complex problems and provide innovative solutions. Operate with substantial latitude for unreviewed actions or decisions. Mentor or supervise employees in technical and company competencies.

Basic Qualifications:

  1. 11+ years of experience in systems engineering or research involving physics-based models related to atmospheric transport or biological weapons effects.
  2. 11+ years of experience with computational dynamics and modeling, including solving partial differential equations using numerical methods such as finite element, finite volume, and finite difference.
  3. Experience creating software tools that generate images with realistic, physics-based artifacts supporting anomaly detection and classification.
  4. Ability to evaluate all project aspects, including design, development, execution, and implementation of chemical and biological research.
  5. Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam.
  6. Bachelor's degree in Physics or Applied Mathematics.

Additional Qualifications:

  1. Experience as a principal investigator.
  2. Experience with DoD agencies.
  3. Experience with military operations, biological command, control, communications, survivability, and hard target defeat.
  4. Knowledge of systems engineering, data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
  5. Knowledge of weapons control technology.
  6. TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
  7. Master's degree in Physics or Applied Mathematics.

Clearance:

Applicants must undergo a security investigation; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Compensation:

Full-time and part-time employees working at least 20 hours per week are eligible for these benefits. The projected salary range is $112,800 to $257,000 annually, depending on various factors.
