Location: Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute in Lancaster, PA

Schedule: Full time (40 hours per week), primarily between 6am-5pm, Monday through Friday. Shifts will vary within operating hours. Holidays and on-call hours are not required unless unexpected issues arise.

Summary:

  • Position: Provide radiation physics services for the safe and lawful use of radiation and radioactive materials across all clinical modalities, including patient care for all age groups.
  • Responsibilities include:
    • Perform annual, monthly, and weekly QA on radiation oncology equipment, including Gamma Knife.
    • Calibrate physics and radiation equipment as required.
    • Verify radiation therapy treatment planning and calculations.
    • Perform weekly physics checks on all charts following established guidelines.
    • Participate in treatment planning and procedures for brachytherapy and stereotactic treatments.
    • Provide in-services and training as needed.
    • Maintain quality management programs and ensure compliance with NRC, State, and ACR regulations.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Masters or Ph.D. in Physics.
  • Certification by the American Board of Radiology or Medical Physicists, or eligibility, with certification obtained within three years of start date if eligible.
  • Preferred: 3 to 5 years of experience.
  • Credentials: Certified Health Physics (Required).
