Applied Materials Integrated Circuit Testing GmbH is seeking a physicist or engineer (m/f/d) to advance our particle beam technology and semiconductor control systems in a high-accuracy R&D environment.

The role focuses on defining requirements, testing new concepts, and collaborating across international teams to deliver next-generation inspection solutions. A PhD in physics or related field is preferred, with experience in beam systems and electron optics.

Qualifications

  • Degree in physics or related field; PhD preferred.
  • Experience in designing, building and operating particle beam systems.
  • Knowledge of SEM/TEM and electron optics, as well as ultra-high vacuum and high voltage technology.
  • Systematic, analytical, goal-oriented work approach.
  • Wamiliarity with cross-functional teamwork in international settings.

Responsibilities

  • Develop novel particle beam systems meeting high-end semiconductor inspection requirements.
  • Define system requirements and specifications; troubleshoot issues.
  • Plan and conduct tests of new technologies on lab prototypes.
  • Collect and analyze data; design statistically valid experiments.
  • Lead and mentor less experienced physicists/scientists; collaborate with R&D teams.
