Summary : The Physician Assistant shall perform tasks and procedures delegated by the referring Physician within their scope of practice; performs complete, detailed, and accurate histories; reviews patient records to develop comprehensive medical status reports. This individual shall perform physical examinations, interacts, and counsels patients for symptom management, advanced care planning purposes, and the determination of patient goals. The PA will Institute therapy, including drug therapies. The PA will accept and perform hospital consults and rounds, and provide instructions and guidance regarding medical care and management of stable and chronic illnesses under the supervision of an appropriately credentialed attending physician. This position may have additional duties that are within scope of the role.
Bachelor’s degree and completion of a Physician Assistant Program required.
PA License required, BLS required.
Position requires sitting for 20% of the workday and mobility 80% of the workday. There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action. Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds. There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person. Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range. Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels. Much exposure to computer work. Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock. Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks. Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.
