Job summary

Eastern Shawnee Staffing Services seeks a Family Practice Physician for a long-term contract at Pinon Health Center in Pinon, AZ. This outpatient clinic role offers a Monday–Friday schedule with competitive compensation, serving an underserved Navajo Nation community.

In partnership with IHS, provider will deliver comprehensive primary care, coordinate referrals, and maintain strong teamwork in a supportive clinical environment. Credentialing may take up to 90 days.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree with Board Certification in Family Medicine.
• Active US medical license in any state.
• Minimum 2 years in Family Medicine or related outpatient setting.
• Ability to obtain federal background clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages.
• Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic conditions.

What You’ll Do

• Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and chronic medical conditions
• Conduct patient assessments, physical examinations, and medical histories
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, diagnostic studies, and imaging
• Prescribe medications and treatment plans in accordance with established clinical guidelines
• Deliver preventive care services and patient education
• Coordinate specialty referrals through the Patient Referred Care (PRC) process
• Collaborate with nurses, pharmacists, behavioral health professionals, and other members of the healthcare team
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation within the electronic health record
• Follow all IHS clinical, infection control, and patient safety policies
• Provide culturally sensitive and patient-centered care
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support clinic performance goals
• Document accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) - RPMS

• Experience working in rural or underserved communities strongly preferred
• Must be able to pass a federal background/security clearance

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Family Medicine, Primary Care, Internal Medicine, Urgent Care, or a related outpatient setting
• Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory
• Current DEA registration
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Peer and Supervisory references required
• Proof of education (diploma and/or transcripts) required
