Eastern Shawnee Companies is seeking a Family Practice Physician for a long-term contract at Tsaile IHS Health Center in Arizona. Contract Details

• Start Date: June/July
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Full‑Time Hours
• Setting: Outpatient Family Practice Clinic
• Contract Type: 1099 Government Contractor (Locum)
• Duration: Up to 1 year with extension options

Position Overview

The Family Practice Physician will provide comprehensive, patient‑centered care to individuals and families across the lifespan, with a focus on improving health outcomes in the American Indian and Alaska Native population.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages
• Conduct patient evaluations, physical exams, and medical histories
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions
• Order and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging
• Prescribe medications in accordance with IHS formulary guidelines
• Provide patient education on disease prevention and health maintenance
• Coordinate referrals using the Patient Referred Care (PRC) process
• Collaborate with clinical staff on quality improvement initiatives
• Follow all IHS infection control and safety protocols
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EHR system
• Uphold patient rights, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity

Requirements

• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• ACLS and PALS preferred
• Experience with Indian Health Services (IHS) or tribal healthcare systems preferred
• Experience working in rural or underserved settings preferred
• Must be a U.S. citizen residing primarily in the United States
• Must be able to pass a federal background/security clearance
• Proof of education (diploma or transcripts required)
