Summary

North Florida/South Georgia (Lake City) VA Healthcare System's Urology Service is seeking an experienced and dynamic Urologist. You must be an excellent communicator and team player who is adaptable to the needs of a growing medical center.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirements and any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending completion of training or licensing requirements may be considered tentatively but cannot be hired until all requirements are met. Current VA-employed physicians who met the requirements at their initial appointment are deemed to have met the basic requirements.

• Citizenship: US citizenship required; non-citizens may be appointed if qualified citizens are unavailable.
• Education: MD or equivalent degree from an approved school.
• Licensing: Full, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the US.
• Residency: Completion of an approved Urology residency leading to eligibility for board certification.
• Additional: Proficiency in English, physical and mental stability, and compliance with physical requirements.

Duties

• Provide clinical and operative urology services, including outpatient and inpatient care.
• Participate in teaching and mentorship of urology residents and medical students.
• Engage in academic activities, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and supervise mid-level providers.
• Participate in call rotations and maintain a flexible schedule as needed.
