The Division of Urology at the VA Boston Healthcare System (VABHCS) is seeking an academic staff urologist with expertise in Endourology, including benign prostatic hyperplasia and stone disease. Candidates must have an outstanding academic record with evidence of teaching, research, publications in the field of Urology. Prior leadership experience is beneficial. This position will be largely in the realm of Endourology but will also allow for expansion and growth of other areas of Urology, including minimally invasive surgery via laparoscopic/robotic approaches, as well as leadership advancement. General Urology coverage and call will round out the clinical exposure.

Board Eligibility in Urology is required. Fellowship training in Endourology with experience in minimally invasive and robotic surgery is desirable, but not essential. General urologists with interest in endourology are encouraged to apply. Candidates should be available to start clinical practice in 2025-2026.

Candidates are expected to have credentials sufficient to be appointed at Harvard Medical School (HMS) or Boston University (BUSM) School of Medicine. Faculty appointments are made by the respective medical school's appointments and promotions committee and not the VA Boston Healthcare System.

VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package, including:

  • Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment): This position is eligible for the EDRP, a student loan payment reimbursement program.
  • Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
  • Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)

  • Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory

  • Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
