Additional Job Description
WVU School of Medicine and the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery seek a General Thoracic Surgeon (ranks: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The candidate will practice primarily in Morgantown, WV, with possible assignments at additional sites in WV, Maryland, and Pennsylvania, which may require travel.
Responsibilities: Join a team of renowned academic thoracic surgeons at the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute and Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center. Candidates skilled in minimally invasive lung and esophageal surgery are encouraged to apply. The role involves patient care and teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
Qualifications: MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent), eligibility for WV medical license, completion of general surgery residency and cardiothoracic fellowship, and board certification or eligibility in thoracic surgery. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
