Job description

Seeking a full-time BE/BC Neurosurgeon to join a team in southeast Connecticut.


Position Details:
  • Neurosurgery services are currently provided by three, full-time neurosurgeons.
  • One well-established neurosurgeon is nearing retirement and succession planning is underway to maintain a robust, fully-autonomous neurosurgery program with 24/7 neurosurgery call coverage.
  • The new neurosurgeon will walk into immediate volume with a focus on spine.
  • Interests in complex spine, general intracranial and basic neurotrauma will be supported.

Practice & Hospital Highlights:
  • 200+bed community hospital
  • Separate Medical and Surgical ICUs
  • Over 10 operating rooms
  • 24/7 trauma and neurohospitalist coverage
  • A level 3 trauma center - Q3 call schedule supported by mid-levels
  • A partnership model between ortho-spine and neuro-spine surgeons
  • Shared PA service between Neurosurgery and Orthopedics
  • Block OR time at hospital
  • First year expected volume of 100+ cases and 200-250 cases once established
  • Surgical Technology: Globus Robot for spine surgery, Stealth Navigation with O-arm, Zeiss Kinevo Microscope and ancillary spine equipment
  • Position includes two ambulatory clinic locations
  • Opportunity to work alongside neurosurgeons and full-time physician assistant
