Job Opportunity

We have an exciting opening for a Supervisor of the Travel Medical Disability Examiners to join our growing team. This supervisory role involves overseeing physicians and mid-level providers on the Medical Disability Exam Travel team. Responsibilities include evaluating and conducting exams for Medical Disability claims for Veterans, including TBI exams.

This role requires traveling within the United States to fixed facilities and mobile units to conduct exams. When not traveling, you will oversee the team, establish collaborations with mid-level providers, and complete ACE and internal Medical Opinion requests as required by contracts. You will have the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S.

Qualifications

• Licensed MD or DO with current, unrestricted state license, or the ability to obtain licensure in the work state, including possible use of a compact license.
• Board certification in Psychiatry, Neurosurgery, Physiatry, or Neurology.
• Experience with VA disability evaluations, understanding VA quality and timeliness standards.
• Ability to perform detailed, accurate work and demonstrate leadership, organization, and multi-tasking skills.
• Availability to travel 50% or more for monthly assignments.
• Ability to work remotely when not traveling to complete exams and other duties.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Flexibility to work in various environments, including mobile clinics and with homebound patients.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified VA Compensation and Pension Examiner.
• Military or veteran healthcare experience.
• Leadership or supervisory experience.

Additional Information

The salary range for this role is $269,500 to $425,500 annually, based on full-time employment, experience, and achievement of metrics. Benefits include comprehensive health coverage, incentives, stock purchase options, and 401(k) contributions. All employees must adhere to UnitedHealth Group's telecommuting policies.
