Summary

The Battle Creek VA Medical Center is seeking a Radiologist to serve as a member of the diagnostic radiology department at our Battle Creek and Wyoming - MI campuses. The role includes administrative, clinical, and educational activities in radiology services. A recruitment/relocation incentive (sign-on bonus) is available for highly qualified candidates.

Qualifications

To qualify, applicants must meet the basic and any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Pending training or licensing completion applicants may be tentatively selected but cannot be hired until all requirements are fulfilled. Current VA-employed physicians who met previous qualification standards are deemed to meet the basic requirements.

Basic Requirements:

• U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens only if qualified citizens are unavailable
• Doctor of medicine or equivalent degree from an approved school
• Current, full, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the U.S.
• Completed residency training approved by the VA in an accredited core specialty program, leading to eligibility for board certification
• Residents enrolled in accredited programs may be appointed as "Physician Resident Providers" (PRPs) under specific conditions
• Proficiency in spoken and written English
• Physically and mentally capable of performing essential functions of the position

Duties

• Interpret various radiology studies including general, body imaging, dexa scans, and musculoskeletal radiology
• Review requests, respond to consults, prescribe protocols, review image quality, and provide feedback
• Obtain informed consent, coordinate care, communicate urgent findings, document in EHR, and respond to emergencies
• Interact with patients for relevant history and findings within scope
• Oversee medication administration related to radiology procedures
• Participate in quality assurance, teaching, and clinical committees
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
