Job summary

The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery within the Illinois Department of Human Services seeks a Physician Specialist, Option D (Psychiatry), for the Elgin Mental Health Center in Elgin, Illinois to provide psychiatric evaluations, treatment, and court testimony as part of a multidisciplinary medical team.

Requires a valid Illinois Physician and Surgeon License and American Board Certification in Psychiatry; a minimum of one year of experience in evaluating and coordinating psychiatric

Qualifications

Requires Illinois Physician and Surgeon License.
Requires American Board Certification in psychiatry.

Responsibilities

Provides psychiatric evaluations and orders/ interprets laboratory tests and psychometric procedures.
Completes psychiatric documentation and reports in a timely manner.
Evaluates and may testify in court regarding involuntary commitment and related issues.
Attends medical committees and participates in ongoing education programs.
