Position Overview

The Division of Mental Health seeks a Physician Specialist Option B at Chester Mental Health Center. As a licensed Physician, you will provide medical services, consult with staff, and support patient recovery.

Essential Functions
  • Conduct comprehensive medical and mental examinations, interpret lab results, and prescribe treatments.
  • Coordinate medical care and interventions.
  • Examine employees with work-related injuries and provide appropriate care and referrals.
  • Document findings and treatments thoroughly.
  • Participate in medical staff meetings and committees.
  • Serve in leadership roles within committees as elected or appointed.
  • Perform other duties within scope as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid Illinois Physician and Surgeon License.
  • American Board Certification in Family Practice.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of experience in medical care for mental health patients.
  • Experience coordinating medical services and conducting examinations.
  • Experience in treatment planning and documentation.
  • Effective communication skills.
Conditions of Employment
  • Valid Illinois Controlled Substance License.
  • DEA Certificate of Registration.
  • Ability to join Chester Mental Health Center’s medical staff.
  • Ability to travel, stand, and participate in emergency interventions.
  • Maintain BLS certification, testify in court, and serve as Medical Officer of the Day as needed.
  • Pass background check and drug screening.
