Job summary

Los Alamos Medical Center is seeking a Physician Services Manager to oversee daily departmental operations and align them with organizational objectives. You will help develop goals and standards that support the overall strategic vision while ensuring strong staff relations and regulatory compliance.

You will manage scheduling, payroll, and development initiatives, monitor budgets and contracts, and foster an environment of professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
• Experience in healthcare administration or physician services preferred.
• Ability to manage staff schedules, budgets, and contracts.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA and healthcare regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead department goals and operations.

How you'll contribute

A Physician Services Managerwho excels in this role:

• Manages the daily operations of the assigned department or function to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.
• Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
• Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management. Performs and oversees scheduling, staff development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.
• Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations. Determines and justifies needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and/or stock supplies.
• Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
• Ensures department stays focused on their important role in the continuum of care.
• Demonstrates regular and reliable attendance.
• Serves both internal co-workers and external customers, clients, patients, contractors, and vendors.
• Works with sensitive and/or confidential information.
• Exhibits a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA). Skilled in the application of policies and procedures. Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in related field required. Applicable work experience may be used in lieu of education.

Skills and Abilities:

• Business Mathematical Skills -- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.
