Job summary

Geisinger Medical Center in Pennsylvania is seeking an internist specializing in diseases of joints, muscles, bones and tendons. The role focuses on diagnosing arthritis, back pain, athletic injuries and autoimmune conditions in a hospital setting.

You will interview patients, order tests, design treatment plans, and coordinate care. The position requires an MD or DO and PA license, with a commitment to compassionate, evidence-based practice and teamwork within Geisinger’s clinical network.

Job Summary: An internist who treats diseases of joints, muscles, bones and tendons. This specialist diagnoses and treats arthritis, back pain, muscle strains, common athletic injuries and systemic autoimmune diseases.

Job Duties: Interviews patients to obtain information such as symptoms, medical histories, and family histories. Performs and/or interprets diagnostic tests as needed. Diagnose and design a plan of treatment for injuries and/or illness. May prescribe or administer medications. Prepares, maintains, and reviews records that include patients' histories, examination findings, treatment plans, or outcomes. Work is typically performed in a clinical and office environment.
