Job summary

Avera McKennan seeks a qualified physician at Avera St Luke's Hospital to provide direct medical evaluation, diagnosis, and care within established protocols. Join a multidisciplinary team committed to moving health forward for patients and families.

MD or DO with state license and board status, plus an active DEA license, will provide and educate patients, perform procedures, and collaborate with care teams while upholding safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed to practice medicine in the state where services are provided and board certified or board eligible.
• DOs may also be board certified or board eligible and licensed in the state of practice.
• DEA license (federal) required upon hire.
• Ability to work the hours specified and communicate effectively with patients and team.
• Commitment to confidentiality and safety standards in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients according to medical staff approved protocol and acceptable standards of practice.
• Provides medical services and health education to patients and family members.
• Performs necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Interprets information gathered during the diagnostic process and formulates appropriate plan of care.
• Maintains patient records and accurate information; ensures referrals when needed.
