Job summary

Avera Internal Medicine Mitchell seeks a physician to provide direct medical evaluation, diagnosis, procedures, and patient care within defined protocols. You will educate patients and families, coordinate care with the team, and maintain accurate records in a collaborative environment.

The role requires MD/DO licensed in the service state, board-eligible or -certified status, and a current DEA license, with commitment to safety and quality care. On-site within Mitchell, SD.

Qualifications

• Must hold medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy license and board status as applicable.
• Active DEA license and ability to practice under state medical regulations.
• Compliance with healthcare standards and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients per approved protocols.
• Provide medical services and health education to patients and families.
• Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality.
• Collaborate with care team to coordinate referrals and care plans.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as needed.

Effectively contributes to the health education of individuals and groups and applies appropriate methods designed to increase each person’s motivation to assume responsibility for their own health care.Performs necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.Interprets information gathered during the diagnostic process and formulates appropriate plan of care.Provides quality care for patient, demonstrates appropriate health, safety, and aseptic practices.Recognizes and reacts appropriately to environmental safety factors related to patient care. Effectively provides patient instruction related to environment of care and safety standards.Understands, applies, and supports practice policies, procedures, goals and standards.Meets regularly with the care team for consultation and collaboration as well as with personnel to promote quality care for patients.
