Psychiatry – Behavioral Health Detroit Lakes, MN

Our Behavioral Health team is seeking a psychiatrist to serve patient populations throughout the local and outlying communities. The physician will provide behavioral health services to individual patients across the lifespan. The division includes physicians, psychologists, nurse practitioners, clinical social workers, psychiatric physician assistants, nurses, and support staff, offering a professional atmosphere for practice.

Schedule: part-time or full-time, Monday through Friday 8a.m.–5p.m.; no evenings or weekends. Primary outpatient practice with the possibility of a rotating schedule for inpatient/ED consults. Pediatric experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct health screenings and psychiatric evaluations.
• Prescribe, monitor, manage, and evaluate psychopharmacological medications.
• Provide integrated mental health services in general health settings.
• Collaborate with other psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, nurse practitioners, and support staff.
• Seek consultation and refer patients to other providers when necessary.
• Collaborate with other departments and specialties to treat patients with complex medical needs and comorbid mental health concerns.

Qualifications and Interpersonal Requirements

Education / Licensure / Certification

• MD degree with Board Certification or Board‑Eligibility in psychiatry.
• ABPP certification preferred.
• Child / adolescent certification preferred.
• Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.

Compensation

Base salary: $335,000. Hired candidates may be eligible for additional compensation in the form of bonuses, quality incentives, or production‑based compensation.
