Job description

Rewarding Opportunity for Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist

Join our cohesive multidisciplinary Inpatient Child Adolescent team at a 57-bed hospital facility providing inpatient care for over 650 children and adolescents and 1,300 adults annually with mental illness or substance abuse issues.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide direct patient services including diagnostic admission evaluations, psychotherapy, and pharmacotherapy as appropriate.
  2. Work within a multidisciplinary treatment team, potentially acting as a clinical team leader to coordinate and supervise care across disciplines, guiding other clinicians in treatment planning.
  3. Collaborate with the team to minimize restraint and seclusion, and participate in quality improvement projects.
  4. Complete timely documentation of assessments, interventions, discharge summaries, and update records according to regulations.
  5. Monitor risk indicators, address risk management issues promptly to ensure safety, and consult with peers as a resource.
  6. Follow safe, evidence-based prescribing practices, obtaining informed consent for medication trials.
  7. Communicate effectively with outside providers, primary care physicians, schools, and families as needed.
  8. Provide rotational coverage to ensure continuous psychiatric consultation services during various shifts and plan for coverage during absences.
  9. Supervise medical students, residents, and non-physician health professionals.
  10. Participate in Medical Staff Committees and meetings as required.
