Job summary

JPS Health Network, in collaboration with Acclaim Health, seeks a Physician for the Psychiatric Emergency Center (Nights) at Trinity Springs Pavilion in Fort Worth, TX. The role delivers direct clinical care to patients in acute psychiatric emergencies and coordinates rapid assessment and disposition.

You will work 12-hour night shifts, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to safety, quality, and throughput while supporting education and research initiatives.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Residency and/or fellowship trained in psychiatry.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients in the psychiatric emergency center.
• Develop stabilization and treatment plans for high-acuity patients.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care to optimize outcomes.
• Supervise and/or mentor psychiatric staff and trainees.
• Collaborate with nursing, social work, and other care team members to support patient flow.
• Review medical charts to diagnose, treat, and educate patients and families.
• Ensure care aligns with JPS Health Network and Acclaim Health guidelines.
• Support quality, safety, and operational excellence within the PEC.
• Participate in Performance Improvement Programs and Peer Review committees.
• Build positive relationships with staff, partners, patients, and the community.

Job Summary

The Psychiatric Emergency Center (PEC) Physician is responsible for delivering direct clinical care to patients presenting with acute psychiatric emergencies. This position provides rapid psychiatric assessment, stabilization, and disposition planning for patients in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment.

The PEC Psychiatrist works 12-hour shifts and collaborates closely with other physicians, residents, advanced practice providers, nursing, social work, learners, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, efficient, and evidence-based care. This role supports patient flow, crisis intervention, and timely disposition, including admission, discharge, or referral to appropriate levels of care.

This position also supports quality, safety, and operational excellence within the Psychiatric Emergency Center and collaborates with departmental leadership to optimize clinical outcomes and throughput.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients presenting to the psychiatric emergency center.
• Develop and implement stabilization and treatment plans using appropriate interventions in a high-acuity environment.
• Coordinates multidisciplinary care to optimize patient outcomes.
• Supervise and/or mentor psychiatric staff such as advanced practice providers, residents, and trainees.
• Collaborate with other attending providers, nursing leadership, social work, and other allied health professionals to support cohesive care delivery and efficient patient flow.
• Reviews medical charts to assess, diagnose, treat, and educate patients and families.
• Ensures care delivery aligns with JPS Health Network and Acclaim Health guidelines.
• Provides evidence-based, compassionate care to improve outcomes and patient satisfaction.
• Demonstrates patient-centered and value-driven behavior.
• Supports academic, educational, and research initiatives
• Participates in Performance Improvement Programs and Peer Review committees.

Qualifications
