Job summary

Kent Hospital in Rhode Island, part of Care New England Health System, seeks a BC Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician with geriatrics focus to join our Geriatrics and Palliative Care Team.

The role includes outpatient primary care and consults, cognitive evaluations, and pre-operative geriatric assessments, with a path to participate in e-consults; a 25% allocation to the ACE inpatient unit is possible.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Board certification in Geriatrics (dual certification in Palliative Care preferred).
• Commitment to high quality, patient-centered care and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient primary care and consultative geriatrics services.
• Perform cognitive evaluations and pre-operative geriatric assessments.
• Participate in our Geriatric Surgery Verification program and e-consult service.
• Option to allocate 25% of time to ACE inpatient unit at Kent Hospital.

• BC Internal or Family Medicine

What You’ll Do:

• Outpatient primary care and consultative practice located adjacent to Kent Hospital
• Scope of practice: primary care, cognitive evaluations, pre-operative geriatric assessment through our Geriatric Surgery Verification program, opportunity to participate in our e-consult service
• Option for 25% of time to be spent on our ACE inpatient unit at Kent Hospital
• Collaborate on system wide Age Friendly initiatives
