Job summary

Job description

Position Summary

The Physician works collaboratively with all members of the care team, providing world‑class service to both patients and staff. Menages the care of a panel of patients using best practices to diagnose and treat a variety of diseases and injuries, supports call coverage, guides and oversees mid‑level providers, focuses on high patient satisfaction and retention, and develops strong partnerships with fellow physicians and support staff.

Key Outcomes

Patient Experience/Clinical Oversight

  • Ensures all patients receive welcoming access to high‑quality, patient‑centric care and education.
  • Contributes to the design and implementation of site‑specific policies and procedures, working with the Practice Medical Director and Practice Administrators.
  • Engages in professional and non‑professional activities of the health care center and assures compliance with government standards and MPHC policies.
  • Monitors and evaluates ongoing clinical quality improvement operations, reports findings, and recommends program modifications.
  • Supports assessment projects to continually improve patient care and responds to CAHP scores.
  • Works with physician recruiters to engage in recruitment, on‑boarding, and interview activities for new physicians and mid‑level practitioners.
  • Coordinates with enabling departments to ensure clinical partnership and organization’s strategic objectives are met.
  • Conducts regular reviews of patient charts to ensure compliance with clinically approved standards.

Patient Care

  • Provides medical care customarily performed by physicians in the specialty.
  • Provides Medical Services as directed by MPHC.
  • Performs other duties requested by MPHC consistent with the physician employment role.
Quality Improvement
  • Maintains excellence of care delivery and defines standards.
  • With the site team, establishes areas of focus.
  • Oversees chart and case review and defines scope and expectations from clinicians.
  • Participates in Quality Improvement initiatives and population health initiatives.
  • Participates in daily huddles and team meetings to improve workflows and patient outcomes.
  • Monitors payer quality programs and disseminates results compared to benchmarks.
Organizational Participation / Community Outreach
  • Encourages increased use of the health center, monitoring satisfaction within the health center.
  • Monitors patient complaints.
  • Assists with orientation for new patients and informs the community about ongoing offerings.
Education / Experience
  • 3+ years of direct patient care experience (preferred).
  • 3+ years of applicable experience with managed care (preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience working with clinicians to deploy best clinical practices.
Required Licenses and Certifications
  • Board certification as MD or DO.
  • Active and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state(s) of assignment.
  • DEA license.
  • BLS certification.
