A leading medical center in New York is recruiting a full-time Primary Care Physician to provide comprehensive care to patients in an academic setting. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval, award amount (up to $200,000), and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply.
To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirements and any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending completion of training or licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but cannot be hired until all requirements are met. Current VA-employed physicians who met the requirements at their initial appointment are deemed to have met the basic requirements.
The James J. Peters VA Medical Center is recruiting for a full-time Primary Care Physician. The incumbent will be board-eligible or board-certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine and responsible for providing primary care to enrolled patients at the medical center and its outpatient clinics.
The provider will deliver team-based care supported by nursing and clerical staff, including pharmacists, social workers, psychologists, and nutritionists. The medical center is an academic tertiary care facility affiliated with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and Columbia University.
Responsibilities include providing acute, routine, and preventive care; delivering direct care via multiple modalities; participating in team-based care; contributing to quality improvement and program development; supervising and instructing medical students and residents; and ensuring compliance with standards and policies.
