Job summary

A healthcare facility in California is seeking a Board-eligible/Board-certified Family Medicine physician to join our clinical team. The role requires an MD or DO, with at least 3 years of Family Practice experience in the last five years, including pediatric care.

Responsibilities include providing full medical services, teaching and guiding staff, preventive care, ordering tests, and coordinating referrals.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• At least 3 years of Family Practice experience in the last 5 years, including working with children.
• Active, unrestricted medical license in any state.
• Board eligibility required; board certification preferred (American Board of Family Practice or Internal Medicine / Osteopathic boards).
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Pass a government background check and obtain security clearance.

• Provide full medical services per facility permissions.
• Teach and guide other health care professionals in areas of expertise.
• Examine patients, diagnose health issues, and determine treatment plans.
• Provide preventive care and health maintenance, including annual exams and patient education.
• Order tests and refer to other doctors or clinics as needed.
• Educate and supervise clinic staff and deliver educational talks in line with government rules.

Job Responsibilities:

The following are the main duties of the position:

Main Duties:

• Provide a full range of medical services based on the permissions given by the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).
• Teach and guide other health care professionals in areas that match your skills and permits.
• Examine patients, determine their health issues, provide treatment, or suggest treatment plans based on your training and experience.
• Offer preventive care and health maintenance, including annual physical exams, promoting healthy behaviors, and teaching self-care skills through education and counseling.
• Order necessary medical tests and refer patients to other doctors or clinics when needed.
• Be skilled at teaching and directing other medical staff, giving educational talks, and helping train clinic staff members. This must follow government rules and accepted medical standards.

Work Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 8.5 hours a day, between 7:30 am and 6:00 pm
• No work on weekends or holidays
• No on-call duties

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Must have an M.D. (Doctor of Medicine) or D.O. (Doctor of Osteopathy).
• Experience: At least 3 years of experience in Family Practice within the last 5 years, including working with children.
• License: Must have an active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in any state.
• Board Certification: Must be eligible for board certification. Being board certified is preferred. Certification can be from the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Family Practice, the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine, or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians.
• Life Support Certifications: Must have current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Security: Must be able to pass a government background check and obtain a security clearance from the government.
