The Alaska VA Healthcare System is seeking two Primary Care Physicians for the VA hospital in Anchorage, Alaska. This position offers a patient-centered, interdisciplinary care model and is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP). Candidates must possess a medical degree, an unrestricted license, and experience in residency training.

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. See "Duties" below for more details.
Duties
A Physician in the VA Primary Care Service is an independent care provider who is highly skilled in the management of a patient's primary care needs or subspecialty evaluation and treatment. The Alaska VA Healthcare System emphasizes the delivery and continuity of Primary Care. A Team Practice model is used, with each patient assigned to a primary care provider and outpatient team. The team manages the patient's longitudinal care. The model is patient-centered and interdisciplinary.

Pending training or license completion applicants may be referred and tentatively selected but cannot be hired until all requirements are met. Current VA-employed physicians who met initial appointment requirements are deemed to have met basic requirements.
