Job summary

St. Tammany Health System in Covington, LA, seeks an obstetrician/gynecologist to diagnose, manage, and treat OB/GYN patients in the emergency department and inpatient settings.

The role includes contributing to standard of care guidelines for the Ob/Gyn service line and supporting patient care across shifts. The ideal candidate is a licensed, board-certified OB/GYN with current BLS/ALS credentials and at least 3 years of post-residency practice.

Qualifications

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Scheduled Weekly Hours: TBD Work Shift: 24 hour shift

JOB SUMMARY:

Diagnose, manage and treat obstetrical and gynecologic patients in the emergency department and inpatient setting. Provide input in the development of standard of care guidelines for Ob/Gyn service line.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be licensed by the Louisiana State board of Medical Examiners to practice medicine. Board Certified in Obstetrics/Gynecology Current BLS, and ALS certifications through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off (ALS required by specialty only) Minimum of 3-years of Ob/Gyn practice post residency

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 20 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
