St. Tammany Health System in Covington, LA, seeks a physician-leader to provide medical direction for the St. Tammany Physician’s Network and actively participate in shaping standards of care across the system.
You will assess, diagnose, and treat patients in accordance with generally accepted medical standards, contribute to the development and support of care standards, and maintain clinic schedules as specified in the contract.
The health system is nestled in the heart of Covington on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain. It is a peaceful, scenic, community-oriented area with an abundance of amenities to suit every taste.

Summary of the Job: Provides leadership and medical direction for St. Tammany Physician’s Network. Provides input in the development of standards of care. Assess, diagnose, and treat patients at St. Tammany Physicians Network in accordance with generally accepted standards of medical care for the specialty in which you are licensed. Provide input in the development of standards of care for St. Tammany Physicians Network. Participate in the development and support of St. Tammany Physicians Network. Maintain clinic schedules as noted in contractual agreement.
Must be licensed by the Louisiana State board of Medical Examiners to practice medicine.
Current BLS, and ALS certifications through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross.
The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off (ALS required by specialty only)
Physical Demands: Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 20 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
Physical Effort required: Constant (67%-100%) - handling/feeling, talking, hearing, seeing Frequently (34%-66%) - reaching Occasionally (1%-33%) - lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), balancing, stooping, crouching
