Job description

Position Summary: The Staff Physician will contribute to the mission of the Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation, aiming to improve the health status of the people in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta region of Alaska. The physician works under the supervision of the Medical Director and the Clinical Services Administrator.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Providing acute, chronic, and well care for complex pediatric patients.
  2. Managing approximately 1200 chronically ill patients and over 1000 well children, primarily of Yupik Alaskan descent, with significant respiratory and infectious disease issues.
  3. Managing conditions such as asthma, aspiration syndrome, chronic lung disease, prematurity-related issues, congenital heart disease, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, ADHD, fetal alcohol syndrome, cerebral palsy, and seizure disorders.
  4. Stabilizing, managing, and transporting critical care and neonatal emergency patients, including occasional medevacs to villages.
  5. Assisting pulmonology, neurology, genetics, cardiology, and endocrinology specialists during Bethel pediatric clinics and visiting village clinics as needed.
