Job description

Position Overview

The Department of Neurology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson, in collaboration with Banner - University Medicine Tucson, seeks Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Neurologists to join our growing interdisciplinary clinical faculty team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to provide comprehensive neurological care to pediatric patients in both ambulatory and inpatient settings, primarily at the Banner Diamond Childrens Medical Center and associated outpatient clinics located within minutes of the hospital.

The successful candidate will actively participate in teaching and mentorship of neurology residents and medical students and will have the opportunity to contribute to clinical or basic science research. Applicants with strong research interests and a commitment to academic medicine are encouraged to apply. A faculty appointment commensurate with experience and qualifications, with full faculty status at the University of Arizona, will be provided.

Clinical & Academic Environment

The Department of Neurology is committed to comprehensive neurological care for children with a wide spectrum of neurological disorders, including epilepsy, neuromuscular diseases, movement disorders, headache, neurogenetic conditions, and neurodevelopmental disorders. Clinical faculty are supported by:

  • State-of-the-art inpatient and outpatient facilities, including dedicated pediatric specialty clinics.
  • Multidisciplinary care teams, including pediatric subspecialists, therapists, and support staff, ensuring coordinated care.
  • A thriving neurology residency program with 24 residents and a strong emphasis on education and academic growth.
Research Infrastructure

The Department of Neurology houses a robust Clinical Research Unit with dedicated personnel and infrastructure to support clinical and translational research. This includes:

  • Experienced clinical coordinators and regulatory support staff
  • Infrastructure for clinical trials, including industry- and investigator-initiated studies
  • Data management and statistical support resources

This environment provides the foundation for meaningful scholarly productivity and access to novel therapeutics and emerging technologies.
