The Community - Woodlawn, MD

Woodlawn is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Baltimore County, Maryland. It is home to the headquarters of the Social Security Administration (SSA) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). It is bordered by Catonsville on the south, the Patapsco River and Howard County on the west, Randallstown and Lochearn to the north, and the City of Baltimore to the east. Parts of Woodlawn are sometimes informally referred to as Security, Maryland, due to the importance of the SSA's headquarters and nearby Security Boulevard (Maryland Route 122) and Security Square Mall.

Requirements (duties include but are not limited to):

1. Serve as a consultant to management on all matters regarding occupational medicine.
2. Perform clinical evaluations at the medical office on site at SSA.
3. Evaluate health services provided by the Health Unit with recommendations to the Safety and Health Manager for changes or broadening of services, as appropriate.
4. Provide consultation and advice to staff regarding occupational health concerns arising from research projects.
5. Provide medical and administrative support.
6. Serve as a subject matter expert to the SSA community on other health issues, as requested.

Qualifications:

• Graduation with a Doctor of Medicine degree from a U.S. or Canadian medical school approved by the Council of Medical Education and Hospitals, American Medical Association, or an equivalent degree from a foreign medical school with comparable medical education.
• Board certified or board eligible in Internal, Occupational, Preventative, or Family Medicine.
• Current, permanent, full, or unrestricted license to practice medicine.
• Department of Transportation certification to perform Commercial Driver's License medical examinations.
• At least one (1) full year of recent clinical experience assessing employee medical complaints, advising on time-off, injury cases, and making recommendations.
