The Department of Pediatrics and the Section of Pediatric Clinical Genetics at Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, invites applications for the position of Clinical Pediatric Geneticist .

The Section provides clinical genetics services in the Rush University Medical Center in Chicago as well as outreach clinics in Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. Qualified candidates must have completed an approved clinical genetics fellowship program and be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric/Clinical Genetics and/or Metabolic Genetics by the American College of Medical Genetics and be willing and able to travel to the outreach clinics as needed. Candidates will be expected to participate in both inpatient and outpatient pediatric genetics services including direct patient care and supervision of medical students and residents. Candidates must possess a strong commitment to patient care, student and resident education, and clinical medicine. Candidates will be eligible for a faculty appointment in Rush Medical College at the level commensurate with their experience and accomplishments. Excellent clinical skills, teaching interest, and ability to work well with a small and motivated team are a must. The new pediatric geneticist will be joining one other experienced pediatric geneticist in a team that includes three pediatric genetic counselors and a genetic counseling assistant, among other colleagues.

About the Position:

- Serve as a Rush University Medical Center School of Medicine faculty member with competence in patient care and teaching. Clinical research opportunities are available.

- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of professionals in a university center.

The Rush University Children's Hospital (RUCH) is part of the Rush University Medical Center (RUMC). It is an academic medical center that has 110 pediatric beds. RUMC is a 671-bed hospital serving adults and children in downtown Chicago, Illinois. It includes the 58- adult bed Johnston R. Bowman Health Center, Rush University and Rush Health. Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, knowledge and skills; relevant experience and training; education, certifications, and licensure; primary work location; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role. Opportunities for increased compensation based on exceeding productivity targets. Additional compensation may include sign-on and retention bonuses and relocation allowances. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.

Pay Range: $195,000 - $285,000
