Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough medical examinations and assessments of pediatric patients to diagnose illnesses and injuries.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to the needs of each child, including prescribing medications and therapies.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as necessary, providing ongoing care and support to patients and their families.
  • Educate families on health maintenance, disease prevention, nutrition, and developmental milestones.
  • Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay informed about the latest pediatric research and clinical guidelines.

About The Role

The Pediatrician plays a critical role in providing comprehensive medical care to infants, children, and adolescents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and developmental well-being. This position involves diagnosing and treating a wide range of pediatric conditions, from common illnesses to complex chronic diseases, while promoting preventive health measures. The physician will collaborate closely with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop individualized care plans that support optimal health outcomes. Additionally, the role requires staying current with advancements in pediatric medicine and integrating evidence-based practices into patient care. Ultimately, the physician contributes to fostering a supportive and compassionate environment that prioritizes the unique healthcare needs of children throughout their growth and development stages.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an accredited pediatric residency program.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics.
  • Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in Missouri.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate and patient-centered care to children and their families.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Fellowship training or subspecialty certification in areas such as pediatric cardiology, neonatology, or pediatric endocrinology.
  • Experience working in diverse clinical settings including outpatient clinics, hospitals, and community health centers.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and telemedicine platforms.
  • Advanced training in pediatric emergency care or critical care.
  • Participation in pediatric research or quality improvement projects.
