Pediatric Core Privileges include the ability to admit (if applicable), evaluate, diagnose, treat, and consult with patients from birth to 21 years of age regarding their physical, emotional, and social health. Responsibilities include managing acute and chronic illnesses, including major complicated cases. Privileges may also involve providing care in intensive care settings according to unit policies. Applicants may also assess, stabilize, and determine the disposition of patients with emergent conditions, following medical staff policies on emergency and consultative call services.
