Job Description

Pediatric Core Privileges include the ability to admit (if applicable), evaluate, diagnose, treat, and consult with patients from birth to 21 years of age regarding their physical, emotional, and social health. Responsibilities include managing acute and chronic illnesses, including major complicated cases. Privileges may also involve providing care in intensive care settings according to unit policies. Applicants may also assess, stabilize, and determine the disposition of patients with emergent conditions, following medical staff policies on emergency and consultative call services.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree.
• Experience demonstrated through residency logs or clinical activity reports showing at least 50 pediatric patients in the last 12 months.
• Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited pediatric residency program or equivalent.
• Board certification in the relevant specialty/sub-specialty by ABMS, AOA, or Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada. Applicants within five years of residency completion must achieve certification within five years unless waived by the governing board.
