Title: Physician Pediatric Intensivist - Kalamazoo, Michigan
Bronson Children’s Hospital located in Kalamazoo, Michigan is seeking a BC/BE Pediatric Critical Care Physician Part‒Time who has successfully completed a fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care. The Pediatric Intensivists co‒manage pediatric traumas, as well as sedations. Teaching is also a part of the opportunity with Bronson Western Michigan University School of Medicine partners closely with Bronson physicians. The school has nine residency programs including pediatrics, family medicine, and med/peds. Transport services for patients referred to Bronson from 19 regional hospitals and other institutions are conducted by ambulance under the supervision of a specially trained transport nurse. Bronson’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit is an eight‒bed unit and is the area’s only PICU, as well as a four‒bed PSDU. The unit draws from a nine‒county area in southwest Michigan. Bronson is the only hospital that provides pediatric inpatient services in the Kalamazoo and Battle Creek areas.
Bronson Children’s Hospital is a designated children’s hospital recognized by NACHRI and offers a full range of pediatric subspecialties. Provides support for the following pediatric subspecialties: Cardiology, Hematology/Oncology, GI, Endocrinology, Surgery, Neurology, Urology, and more. In‑Hospital Specialists, Specialty Services, and Pediatric and Neonatology Support Services. Bronson maintains a Level III Perinatal Center, 34‒bed Pediatric Unit, a 45‒bed NICU and an 8‒bed PICU with a 4‒bed step down unit.

Other job responsibilities include ordering, performing and interpreting diagnostic tests in addition to counseling patients regarding preventive healthcare, hygiene and diet.
Current Medical License in the state of Michigan. Current DEA and DPS Certificate of Registration. Must maintain all requirements for medical staff privileges. Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques. Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment. Effective verbal and written communication skills along with proper telephone etiquette.
