Established in 1805, the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is the oldest and largest health department in the U.S. Our mission is to protect and improve the health of all New Yorkers through innovative public health programs and services, addressing issues like chronic disease, mental health, maternal health, and climate change.
The Bureau of Public Health Clinics (BPHC) operates 4 TB clinics, 8 sexual health clinics, and 1 immunization clinic. Its mission is to promote community health by providing resources for informed health decisions, TB diagnosis and treatment, immunizations, and sexual health services, regardless of ability to pay or immigration status.
Candidates must bring original documentation to interviews, including proof of identity, education, residency, and professional licenses. Additional documents like transcripts or experience verification may be requested. Selected candidates will need to produce originals during onboarding.
Eligible employees may qualify for federal loan forgiveness programs. The position may be eligible for remote work up to two days per week. Final appointment is subject to OMB approval.
Experience levels vary, with specific requirements for Level I-IV, including postgraduate training and experience in infectious diseases or related fields.
