Appalachian Mountain Health (AMH), a Federally Qualified Health Center is seeking a compassionate and dedicated part-time physician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality medical care to patients, ensure effective diagnosis and treatment, and deliver an exceptional patient experience in a collaborative and dynamic healthcare setting. AMH provides comprehensive, accessible, patient-centered primary care to all, including low-income, medically underserved, insured and uninsured populations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Patient Care: Provide comprehensive medical evaluations, diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care for patients in [specialty, e.g., family medicine, pediatrics, etc.].
2. Examinations: Perform physical exams, review medical history, and order/interpret diagnostic tests.
3. Medical Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with legal and organizational standards.
4. Collaboration: Work closely with nursing staff, other physicians, and healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.
5. Patient Education: Advise and educate patients on wellness, prevention, treatment options, and follow-up care.
6. Prescriptions & Treatments: Prescribe medications and therapies as appropriate, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up care.
7. Continuing Education: Stay current with medical advancements, best practices, and medical regulations through professional development and training.

Requirements

Qualifications:

1. Education: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school.
2. Licensure: Valid medical license in North Carolina.
3. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a clinical setting preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

1. Strong diagnostic skills and clinical judgment.
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach.
3. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
4. Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus.

Work Schedule:

Flexible part-time hours, minimum 2 days per week.
