Job summary

St. Luke’s Health System seeks a board-certified or board-eligible Palliative Care Physician to join our oncology team in Idaho.

You’ll work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment with clinicians, APPs, pharmacists, nurses, social workers, and chaplains to advance compassionate, patient-centered care. The role includes a 4-day work week with 32 patient contact hours, no on-call, and opportunities for Medical Directorship.

Qualifications

• MD/DO from accredited medical school.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in specialty.
• Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of practice.
• Current licenses with full prescriptive authority from the Federal DEA and Idaho Board of Pharmacy.
• Eligibility to obtain Medical Staff Privileges with St. Luke’s Health System.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient palliative care consultations for oncology patients.
• Collaborate with oncologists, APPs, pharmacists, nurses, social workers, and chaplains.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and symptom management strategies.
• Educate staff, patients, and families on palliative care principles and best practices.
• Participate in program development, quality improvement, and education efforts.

• No call
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans and provide expert palliative care consultation for oncology patients in the outpatient setting
• Support patients and families in navigating complex medical decisions, symptom management, and goals of care
• Educate staff, patients, and families on palliative care principles and best practices
• Participate in program development, quality improvement initiatives, and educational efforts
