Job summary

SQRL seeks a Physician Outreach and New Patient Navigator to develop outreach strategies, identify physician partnerships, and drive timely enrollment for oncology trials at our Walnut Creek site. The role coordinates with physicians, community groups, and the Medical Director, manages new patient scheduling, collects records, and ensures smooth handoffs from referral to enrollment and first treatment.

5+ years of experience with patients and partnerships is required; oncology background

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience working directly with patients and physician partnerships or account relationship management.
• Oncology experience and exposure to clinical research highly preferred.
• Ability to work on site Mon - Fri in Walnut Creek and travel locally.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement outreach strategies to identify partnerships and potential oncology trial participants.
• Identify and cultivate physician partnerships and maintain relationships to support trial enrollment and patient care.
• Act as a liaison between the Site and community organizations to foster collaboration.
• Engage with community organizations with diverse populations to raise awareness about oncology clinical trials.
• Assist with scheduling of initial new patient consult visits and coordination of visits.
• Ensure collection and uploading of all necessary new patient medical records and maintain effective patient and team communication through enrollment and first treatment.
• Provide new patient trial status to referring physicians upon enrollment confirmation or screen failure.
• Support scheduling needs during screening period.

POSITION

The Physician Outreach and New Patient Navigator is responsible for developing and maintaining outreach and engagement strategies and enrollment efforts while ensuring a seamless new patient experience. This role focuses on identifying and managing partnerships with physician referral sources, engaging with and scheduling new patients, and assisting with the tracking of trial slot availability and fulfillment.

• Develop and implement outreach strategies to identify partnerships and potential oncology clinical trial participants.
• Identify and cultivate new physician partnerships and maintain relationships with existing partners to support trial enrollment and patient care efforts.
• Act as a liaison between the Site and community organizations to foster collaboration.
• Engage with community organizations with diverse populations to raise awareness about oncology clinical trials.
• Assist the Site and Medical Director in identifying potential partnerships.
• Support trial enrollment and patient care efforts by effectively communicating with new patients in a timely fashion.
• Responsible for the scheduling and coordination of the initial new patient consult visits.
• Ensure the collection and uploading of all necessary new patient medical records.
• Maintain effective patient and team communication from referral intake through trial enrollment and first treatment, as appropriate.
• Ensure the effective handover to assigned CRC upon commencement
• Provide new patient trial status to referring physician upon confirmation of enrollment or screen failure.
• Assist with any other scheduling needs during screening period

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

• 5+ years experience working directly with patients and physician partnerships or account relationship management.
• Prior Oncology experience and exposure to clinical research highly preferred
• Ability to work on site Mon - Fri in Walnut Creek and travel locally
