Job summary

Sanford Health in Bemidji, MN is seeking a BE/BC Otolaryngologist to join a growing program. This role offers a high-volume general ENT practice with the opportunity for sub-specialty services and tailored practice development.

OR block time is allocated at 2 days per week, with 10 operating rooms and a large primary care referral base. The Bemidji area provides a scenic setting with strong community resources and a cost of living below the national average.

Qualifications

• M.D. or D.O. degree.
• Certification in primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board; board certification preferred within five years if not current at time of application.
• At least 50 otolaryngology procedures in the last 12 months if not coming directly from residency.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-volume general ENT care with opportunity for sub-specialty services.
• Possess ability to perform history and physical examination, admit where applicable, evaluate, diagnose and consult on head and neck diseases.
• Participate in OR block time (2 days per week) and work within a well-equipped ENT program.

Job Description

Otolaryngology Core Privileges include the ability to perform history and physical examination, admit (if applicable to setting), evaluate, diagnose, and provide consultation on comprehensive medical and surgical care to patients of all ages presenting with diseases, deformities, or disorders of the head and neck that affects the ears, nose, throat, respiratory and upper alimentary systems, and related structures of the head and neck. Head and neck oncology and facial plastic reconstructive surgery and the treatment of disorders of hearing and voice are included in core privileges.

Experience can be demonstrated in one of the following ways and should be reflective of the privileges being requested:

An applicant who has just completed a residency provides his/her residency log.

OR

An applicant who is not applying directly out of a residency shall provide a quality profile from the hospital(s) where he/she currently has privileges showing his/her clinical activity for the past 12 months, including numbers of procedures performed morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications. The applicant must be able to demonstrate at least 50 otolaryngology procedures in the last 12 months.

OR

If a quality profile is not available from the hospital(s) where the applicant currently has privileges, documentation of the applicant's clinical setting activity for the last 12 months is required. The applicant must be able to demonstrate at least 50 otolaryngology procedures in the last 12 months.

More education and experience may be required the more advanced the practice becomes.

Successful completion of a hospital affiliated residency Otolaryngology accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada. Training at residency programs accredited by organizations other than the above, may be considered via the waiver of eligibility process as defined in the Credentialing Policy.

Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/ subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable. Those applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement. (Refer to each entity's policy for grandfather exceptions)

Compensation

• Compensation floor of $750,000 for the first two years of the employment contract, plus estimated potential to exceed compensation floor from personally performed wRVUs.


• In addition, a $150,000 retention incentive to be paid if you remain a 1.0 FTE for 3 years (this will be subject to a contractual agreement specifying all details)
