West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Orthopaedics seek a total joint reconstruction surgeon qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will practice in Morgantown, WV.
Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the area of orthopaedic joint reconstruction surgery. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Interest and success in scholarly research is expected.
Qualifications: Applicants must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical licensure. Candidates must have completed orthopaedic surgery residency program and joint reconstruction surgery fellowship program and be board certified/eligible in orthopaedic surgery. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
Our Department of Orthopaedics has approximately 40 full time faculty in all sub-specialty areas of Orthopaedics, including spine, total joint replacement, sports medicine, foot and ankle, hand, pediatrics, trauma, musculoskeletal oncology, and basic science. Our faculty are fellowship trained and respected nationally, but we emphasize more than surgical expertise - our mission is to set the standard in orthopaedic care. Our thriving, collaborative team of musculoskeletal specialists are dedicated to providing exceptional patient care by achieving excellence in patient outcomes and continually improving our clinical operations. Academically we are committed to providing comprehensive orthopaedic education resulting in personal and professional development of residents, faculty and learners at all levels. As a leader in research we conduct effeicient, collaborative and translational research that improves patient outcomes and advances musculoskeletal research from the bench to the bedside. As a part of a major academic teaching center, we use a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment and education of our patients. Our physicians have easy access to a full range of specialists.
