Position Details

  • State: ME
  • Start Date: 2025-03-01
  • End Date: 2026-09-30
  • Duration: Minimum 1 year contract with option to extend
  • Shift: PT Days Monday thru Friday, 20 hours per week
Skills & Requirements
  • Optometry
  • Certifications: Please confirm credential requirements with VHS upon application.
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in the last 3 years
  • Experience with post-operative refractive surgery, including familiarity with Excimer laser, PRK, LASIK, patient selection, and co-management
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as an optometrist
  • Degree: Doctor of Optometry from an accredited institution
  • Certification to use Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents
Compensation & Benefits
  • Pay Rate: $88.00/hr (1099) or W-2 package available upon request
  • Weekly Pay Schedule via Direct Deposit

Job Responsibilities
  • Examine, diagnose, and treat or prescribe courses of treatment for diseases, injuries, or disorders of the visual system and related structures
  • Promote prevention, wellness, and vision conservation
  • Conduct vision screenings and educational activities
  • Perform vision research and provide clinical recommendations for complex cases
Work Environment
  • Division within the Occupational Health Department
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, Part Time, 20 hours per week
  • No nights or weekends
