Physician / Optometrist / Louisiana / Permanent / Optometrist - Shreveport, LA - 2-3 days/week - Veteran Disability Exams Job

Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Optometrist to join our team to give back to America's heroes and help them receive their well-deserved Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits in Shreveport.

Summary:

  • Full time or Part-time, 2-5 days / week
  • $850-900 / day
  • 3-5 appointments / day
  • No treating or prescribing

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and detect eye diseases. No refraction required.
  • Diagnose visual disorders and document findings.
  • Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Stay updated on advancements in optometry practices and medical terminology.
  • Utilize systems for managing patient appointments and medical records efficiently.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Valid state license to practice optometry. Louisiana license required.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy related to the visual system and common ocular diseases.
  • Familiarity with medical records management systems is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service and patient interaction.
  • Previous assessment experience preferred, but not required.
