Job description

Seeking an additional BE/BC Neuro-Ophthalmologist to join an established Neurosciences Institute in Urbana, Illinois.

  • Candidates must be BE/BC in Neurology or Ophthalmology and have fellowship training in Neuro-Ophthalmology.
  • Service area of over 2 million in the Central and Southern Illinois regions.
  • Strong referral base with limited local competition.
  • Single hospital setting with support from hospitalists, neurohospitalists, neuro-intensive care, neuroradiology, advanced neuroimaging, emergency medicine, cardiology, and cardiothoracic services.
  • Comprehensive medical and surgical services for brain and spine disorders; participation in clinical trials for patients from across Central Illinois.
  • Department includes 5 Ophthalmologists, 5 Optometrists, 1 Low Vision specialist, 5 ABOC Opticians, and dedicated Eye EMR support. Other specialties include Vitreoretinal Surgery, Medical Retina, Cornea, and Pediatric Ophthalmology.

  • Practice located at a newly built clinic; surgeries at a 23,000 sq ft ASC in Champaign.
  • State-of-the-art equipment including Zeiss IOLmaster 700, Humphrey Visual Fields, Heidelberg OCTs, Cirrus OCT, Accutome UBM, intraoperative OCT, Zeiss Lumera microscopes, and various lasers.
  • Neurosciences team includes Neurology (adult & pediatric), Epileptology, EMU, Vascular Neurology, Neurointerventional, Neuro-critical care, Neuro-radiology, Neuro-otology, Neuro-rehabilitation, Neuro-psychology, Pain management, and Sleep medicine.
  • Opportunities for research collaboration and faculty appointment.
  • Teaching opportunities with Neurology residents and medical students.
