Job summary

Rendr is seeking an Anterior Segment Ophthalmologist (Cornea/Glaucoma fellowship preferred) to join a busy MD/OD practice across Sunset Park, Bensonhurst, and Chinatown in NYC. Bilingual English/Chinese candidates are required; fellowship is a bonus.

The role includes cataract and laser procedures, with support staff and coverage across multiple locations. Sun‑and weekday schedules are anticipated, with opportunities to grow patient volume.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board certified or eligible in Ophthalmology.
• Successful completion of an ophthalmology internship/residency.

Responsibilities

• Provide annual diabetic eye exams.
• Treat medical glaucoma, dry eyes, and monitor macular degeneration.
• Expected patient volume in the office: 30+ patients year 1, 30-40+ year 2 with scheduling support.
• Expected surgical volume: 200 cataracts in year 1, ~300 thereafter; laser volume as listed.
• Location coverage across Sunset Park, Bensonhurst and Chinatown as needed; no hospital call.

Job Overview

We are seeking an Anterior Segment Ophthalmologist (Cornea/Glaucoma Fellowship preferred) to join our busy practice of MD/ODs. We have multiple locations in Sunset Park and Bensonhurst (Brooklyn) and Chinatown (Manhattan). We are part of a large physician multispecialty group, Rendr which consists of over 200+ providers in NYC. The practice is comprehensive oriented, no fellowship necessary, however, Glaucoma/Cornea fellowship would be bonus and help grow patient volume faster. Candidate must speak Chinese (fluent in Mandarin or Cantonese).

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide annual diabetic eye exam.


• Treat medical glaucoma, dry eyes, and monitor macular degeneration.


• Expected patient volume in the office: 30+ patients year 1, 30-40+ patients year 2. There will be technician/scribe/surgical scheduling support.


• Expected surgical volume: 200 cataracts for year 1, ~300 cataracts afterwards annually. Expected laser volume: 100 LPIs and 50 SLTs /year to start


• No hospital call required.


• Location: 3 days in Sunset Park Brooklyn (8th Ave N train), 2 days in Bensonhurst Brooklyn (18th Ave D train). Coverage as needed in Chinatown


• Office recently renovated and with state-of-the-art equipment including latest OCT/Optos/Pentacam models. Yag/SLT/LPI capability with Ellex Tango.


• Supervise OD when in the office with he/her

Requirements

• MD or DO from accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine.


• Board eligibility or certification in Ophthalmology.


• Successful completion of an ophthalmology internship/residency.


• Current and unrestricted New York State license and DEA number.


• Bilingual in English and Chinese required. (Must be fluent in Mandarin or Cantonese).
