Job summary

Barton Associates, Inc. is sourcing a dedicated Medical Oncologist for a 195-day assignment in Wisconsin, from Nov 2, 2026. Expect 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM shifts with potential inpatient rounding, handling a diverse oncology/hematology caseload and a focus on comprehensive patient care.

The role includes chemotherapy management, immunotherapy oversight, bone marrow biopsies, central line care, and involvement in tumor boards. Travel expenses are covered and malpractice insurance is provided.

Qualifications

• Board-certified in Hematology and Medical Oncology.
• Experience in managing mixed oncology/hematology cases is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage a mixed caseload of oncology and hematology patients, including new consults and follow-ups.
• Perform inpatient rounding as required.
• Oversee cases across breast, lung, colorectal, prostate, pancreatic, gynecologic cancers, head & neck, melanoma, lymphoma, leukemia, myeloma and MDS.
• Order and manage chemotherapy and its toxicities (IV/oral).
• Provide oversight for immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and hormonal therapy.
• Perform bone marrow biopsies/aspirations.
• Manage central lines (Port-a-Cath, PICC).
• Manage oncologic emergencies.
• Participate in tumor boards and multidisciplinary reviews.
• Administer growth factor support and blood transfusions.

Inpatient rounding may be required for comprehensive patient care.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Manage a mixed caseload of oncology and hematology patients, including new consults and follow-ups.
• Conduct inpatient rounding as required.
• Oversee cases involving breast, lung, colorectal, prostate, pancreatic, gynecologic, head & neck, melanoma, lymphoma, leukemias, multiple myeloma, MDS, and benign hematology.
• Order and manage chemotherapy and its toxicities (IV/oral).
• Provide oversight for immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and hormonal therapy.
• Perform bone marrow biopsies/aspirations.
