Job description

Seeking a full-time BE/BC Medical Oncologist with breast cancer sub-specialization to join 4 breast medical oncologists in expanding a cancer center.

  1. This position is open to mid-career medical oncologists, as well as physicians completing their fellowship with an interest in breast oncology, who desire to further their professional development in an academic-community healthcare system.
  2. The busy breast service sees over 600 new cases of breast cancer annually, cared for by a multidisciplinary team of fellowship-trained breast surgeons, medical, and radiation oncologists sub-specializing in breast cancer.
  3. The clinical team is supported by pathologists, radiologists (many fellowship-trained), reconstructive surgeons, a mature genetic counseling program, and an active nurse navigator program.
  4. Formal programs in survivorship, high-risk care, patient education, and breast rehabilitation services are in development.
  5. Breast Tumor Board meets weekly to discuss patient management.
  6. Hospitalist teams cover inpatient care, with oncology consult services provided by medical oncology.
  7. Opportunities exist to participate in teaching, clinical research, and quality/outcomes research.
  8. Academic accomplishment in clinical trials or quality improvement is highly desirable.
