DEPARTMENTAL SUMMARY: The SCHS ob/gyn hospitalist (nocturnist) provides patient care for the Center for Womens Health as well as hospital coverage for unassigned patients and community providers who present to the emergency department in Bend or are transferred to the Bend hospital from other hospitals.
POSITION OVERVIEW: The OB/GYN hospitalist (nocturnist) physician is a member of the St Charles Center for Womens Health team, with the primary responsibility of providing hospital based care for this clinics obstetric and gynecologic patients. This physician functions primarily as a nocturnist, providing care during the overnight shift to our established patients who present to the Bend Family Birthing Center or Emergency Department, whether directly or via transport from other facilities. In addition, this physician also provides backup support for St Charles Center for Womens Health certified nurse midwives and other community providers, surgical assistance for cesarean deliveries upon request from community physicians, and care for obstetric and gynecologic unassigned patients that present to a St Charles facility in an admitting or consultative role in accordance with SCHS medical staff bylaws.
Call expectation: Back-up call during high census times may be requested.
Work location: The Physician will be in Bend Hospital for coverage needs.

EDUCATION
Required:
Graduation from an accredited medical school.
Successful completion of an accredited residency program in OB/GYN.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION
Required:
Oregon license as MD/DO
Board certified or eligible in OB/GYN. To be board certified or qualified to sit for the boards in primary area of practice at the Hospital. Those applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency or fellowship training are required to become board certified within seven years of residency or fellowship training.
Valid drivers license and the ability to meet SCHS driving requirements.
Maintain unrestricted DEA number.
Maintain unrestricted ability to participate in Medicare / Medicaid, or other federal or state governmental health care programs.
Current BLS certification required.
