Opportunity Information

Seeking a BC/BE OBGYN to join our hospitalist program at Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley, CA (Bay Area).

Our OBGYN hospitalist service provides 24/7 in-house care at Eden Medical Center with one provider on duty at a time. Responsibilities include delivery attendance, OB triage, patient evaluation and management, assisting with surgical and OB deliveries, fetal monitoring, ED coverage for OB and Gyn patients, gynecologic consults, and urgent/emergent gynecologic surgeries. Our hospitalists collaborate with local obstetricians and consult with MFM providers at our high-risk sister hospital in Berkeley, CA, to transfer high-risk or preterm patients. In-house specialists such as pediatric hospitalists, trauma surgeons, anesthesiologists, adult medicine hospitalists, emergency medicine providers, and intensivists are available. Assistance for Cesareans and gynecologic cases is provided by private OBGYN groups, with trauma surgeons available for emergency Cesarean assistance if no other OB is in house.

Qualifications

Organization Details

Eden Medical Center, part of the Sutter Health Network, delivers comprehensive, award-winning care and serves as the regional trauma center for Southern Alameda County. Established in 2012, it delivers approximately 1,200 babies annually. The birth center features:

• 5 L&D rooms, 2 triage beds, 1 L&D OR, 12 postpartum beds
• A 6-bed Level I-II NICU caring for infants from 34 weeks gestation
• In-house pediatric hospitalists, specialized pediatric RNs, and respiratory therapists
• 24/7 coverage by at least one anesthesiologist
• Electronic medical records (EPIC) and remote fetal monitoring
